my favourite tried and true beauty products (many under $10!)

I love finding good products that actually make a difference. Forgot the paid promotions or #sponsored on Insta, I want to know what actually works and what is just a pretty bottle or gimmick. Well, below I have rounded up some of my favourite beauty products that I actually use daily and swear by. These babies have all been put to the test and exceeded my expectations, so if you’re in the market to try something new, give one of these a go!

From left to right, clockwise:

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% – I did an in depth review of that here, but in short: this serum is supposed to reduce the appearance of blemishes and congestion in the skin. And honestly, after using it for several months now, I can’t not have it. My skin is so much more even toned and glowy. Glowy people!! For $6, you need to add this to your cart ASAP.

The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil – This bottle definitely gets grabbed way more in the Winter when my skin is literally seeped bare of any and all moisture (thanks, Canada). But I also like to use it as a spot treatment for dry patches, and recently on my legs after shaving. A little goes a long way, and for only $10, you really can’t go wrong. It’s super fast absorbing and really hydrates without seeming overly oily.

Chanel Chance Eau De Parfum – Definitely more of a personal preference, I like to always carry a perfume with me just in case I want that extra oomf to feel particularly fancy, or pretty. I included it moreso as a reminder that sometimes a little spritz of something is all you need to feel extra put together.

Living Proof Restore Revitalizing Spray – I originally got this in the mini version as part of a bday gift from my sister. And after the first few uses, I knew it was pure magic. Not only does it provide heat protectant up to 400°F (I usually use it before using heat on my hair), it is also a UV protectant and makes my hair feel baby soft. I’m talking can’t stop touching your hair baby soft.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen – I had to include this with Summer coming just around the corner. This is, by far, my favourite sunscreen to apply to the face because it doesn’t feel oily at all and with 60 SPF still gives me enough coverage. It actually makes my face feel soft, which is super nice.

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter –  This highlighter is very finely milled, so you don’t get any chunks of glitter or anything. In fact, there isn’t any glitter in this highlighter at all, just a beautiful sheen. And did I mention it’s only $6? Ya, I know. I apply it with a finger and refuse to buy anything more expensive on the grounds that this ticks all my boxes and doesn’t break the bank.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara  – This drugstore mascara has some great reviews, which led to me trying it out. And I love it! It makes my lashes look long, and when I put a couple layers on it adds volume as well. The only downside I will mention is it seems to dry out faster than other mascaras I’ve tried, but hey, for around $10 I don’t mind repurchasing a bit more often.

Let me know if you end up trying any of these out!
