The Story of the Black Hat
When I first excitedly placed the order, I swung my laptop around to face my boyfriend Kyle and exclaimed look how cute! I, of course, was referring to the pointed toe burgundy suede boots of deliciousness that I just bought on clearance from Aldo. He, however, was hung up on a hat I had bought in order to qualify for free shipping. What is that? he replied, making a face that I was, quite honestly, not looking for when I first informed him of my great find. He then burst out laughing, saying I was going to look like a crocodile dundee, and proceeded to poke fun at my beloved hat for the next half hour.
The VERY next day (I kid you not, you can’t make this up) it arrived, the first item to be delivered out of my whole order. It must have been fate. At this point, this hat had become some sort of inside joke between us, so I waited for him to get home from work before I tried it on. And when I did? It looked awesome. It was the perfect size – not too floppy that I looked like a diva, but big enough that it didn’t look like a fedora. I was ecstatic! Since then, Kyle has never questioned my fashion sense. He knows I know best. 😉
