trends to try for fall

1. (Not) Your Grandmas Sweater Instagram was obsessed with all things pastel and cute this Summer, and it’s making it’s way into Fall — think cute little embroidered sweaters in varying shades of pastels. It’s cozy, playful and I’m super into it. You’ll be wearing

leopard skirt love

So I recently featured this skirt on my Instagram feed and the love is REAL! If you were looking to try out the leopard print trend this Fall (and really, I’m not so sure it’s a trend anymore because I don’t see it going anywhere)

the perfect fall knit for $20

So, I’m obsessed with this knit. It’s lightweight enough to fit under my more tailored coats, not itchy at all, and the perfect Autumnal shade of brown. It literally matches everything, because it’s neutral. And it’s $20. I mean really. H&M always continues to impress me with their knitwear and this one is no exception. I bought a size Medium to have a bit extra boxier/oversized fit, but I would say it runs TTS.

For denim, I’m wearing an old pair of boyfriend denim from Zara but this pair is very similar. I’m also going to link my purse, because it is my absolute FAVOURITE purse I’ve ever owned (it’s my everyday one) and it’s honestly getting it’s own post one of these days so I can really review it but I digress. I love it. Boots are also last season Zara but these are super similar and I own them in a suede version and love them!

western vibes this fall

I always get super excited for warm weather because I find my style truly aligns and thrives in Summer. I love having a tan, having my hair lighter, and wearing things that I would best describe as summer girl cali chic. Even Kyle has commented

fall dress roundup

Fall dressing is so fun because there is truly a transition between warmer weather, where you can wear dresses and skirts with boots, and then cooler weather where you’re bundling up a bit more in big oversized sweaters and jeans. Today, we’ll be focusing on

apple picking + the perfect fall ankle boots

So Kyle and I LOVE going apple picking (amongst other things, my full list of fun Fall dates is here). It’s become a little bit of a tradition for us. As soon as September hits we always keep our eyes on the lookout for a beautiful weekend afternoon and then we book it off from doing any other household chores or to-dos. Something about taking the afternoon to stroll through the orchards, helping each other find the perfect apples (while taste testing as you go, obviously) is super rewarding. It’s best when you don’t have anywhere to be, so you can just take time to enjoy spending it with each other, as a team. It helps remind us to breathe after another hot, humid and busy Summer. And it helps me reset and recharge for the changing seasons.

It’s funny because I also always associate Fall with falling in love. It was September I met Kyle, October when we began dating and by Christmas had fallen head over heels for each other. So for whatever reason, whenever we do these fun dates I always feel a little more sentimental. Though between the changing leaves, the cuddly sweaters and the cooler nights, maybe Autumn in general is a little more romantic.

On another note — these ankle boots!! I cannot get enough of them. Like I mentioned on Instagram, I bought them with the winnings from a survivor football league last year. And I’ve never once regretted it. The suede is so buttery soft, they are super comfortable, the heel is the perfect height to feel elevated but still everyday. UGH. I cannot say enough good things about these babies. For sizing help, I bought them in a size 8 and wear them with thinner socks. I am a true 7.5 in sandals but sometimes size up to 8 for boots to accommodate for socks. That’s the case with these. If you are in the market for a closet staple, I would HIGHLY recommend these ankle boots. They are incredibly versatile and have held up beautifully since I bought them. I have even spilled water on them and it dried without any staining (and that was before suede protectant). So yup. I love these babies. Below, I have linked my exact pair from 4 different retailers, depending on where it’s easiest for you to shop.

my favourite lace cami retailer

Lace camis are an ultimate closet staple for me. Whenever we go on a trip somewhere I always grab at least one to go with me because they are so incredibly versatile! Styled up or down, they add just the right amount of detail to
