So, this sweater was only $14. Yup, you can scoop your jaw off the floor, I’m not joking!! I knew as soon as I saw it I needed to have it and at that price, can you really go wrong? It made me think about […]
Hi guys, Welcome to 2018! To kick off this year I thought I’d share with you my favourite stores to shop at for duty-free (and worry free) deliveries in Canada. I don’t know about you but I really, really hate having to pay customs and […]
Originally, I was going to keep this post private so that I could refer back to it throughout the Boxing Day sales… but I thought it might be helpful for a few of you / you might be interested in what’s on the list!
Whenever there is a big day of sales (Boxing Day/Black Friday/Cyber Monday), I always make a list beforehand so I stick to what I really want versus getting swept up in the “omg it’s on sale I’ll get it anyways” mindset that I’ve fallen prey to before. I find by making a list I can avoid browsing just to browse, which usually leads to a purchase. For example, I don’t need any more jeans so I don’t need to look in that category at all. I’m sure there are going to be great deals on denim too, but if I don’t look then I don’t feel like I’m missing out on a great sale. Because at the end of the day, no matter the deal, I don’t need any more jeans! And to spend my money on that instead of something else I really wanted would not be making the most out of my closet cash. Being able to avoid certain sections will also speed up your shopping, which is good on days when things are selling out fast. I don’t want to miss out on something because I was looking at things I don’t need but “just wanted to look anyways”.
I also like to go through my wardrobe and see what I already have, so that I’m not buying something super similar to something else. That way, I find I get the most of my shopping and add to the diversity of my closet. There are exceptions, for example a piece you always wear you might want it in another colour, but generally I like to fill in what I’m really lacking to help combat that “I have nothing to wear” dilemma. 🙂 Another helpful thing I do is go through the things I don’t wear as much and ask if I had something else to wear with it would I wear it more? For example, if I’m not wearing my camis as much, is there a versatile cardigan I could buy that would let me be more confident in wearing those camis? This is always a win-win because you end up loving the things you already had so much more and get more wear out of them.
A few more things: don’t buy anything that isn’t available in your size. Trust me on this. You won’t wear it as much as you think because it won’t fit you properly. Don’t buy anything just because it’s on sale. If it doesn’t fit into your lifestyle, then I don’t care how marked down that ball gown is, you won’t wear it. Finally, look at your bank account and decide how much money you are spending before and stick. to. that. number. This is important!! No matter how great the sale, if you can’t afford it then don’t create that added stress to your life. Fashion is supposed to be fun! And you don’t want to go down the slippery slope of not being able to say no.
Anyways, those are my main little tricks I stick to! Hopefully they help your shopping go a little smoother on days that are total frenzies. Without further ado, the things are that in my Boxing Day cart!
P.S – I won’t be purchasing everything on this list, if that’s not obvious. Some of these things will probably sell out super fast, and others I have a certain price point in mind that I won’t go above.
Sweater weather is officially here and with the temperatures dipping lower and lower by the day, I figured a post dedicated to cozy sweaters was not only practical, but necessary. I don’t know about anyone else but when the winds are howling outside and the […]
So, it took me awhile to embrace the embroidery trend on my denim. Don’t get me wrong – as a whole, I love embroidery. It can add a lot of detail to a piece, and we all know how much I love the little details. But on denim? I was a little hesitant. Was I going to actually reach for them, or would it just be for one photo and then shoved to the back of the closet.
Well, when the semi annual Zara sale came around this June, I saw these puppies marked down and I decided for less of an investment of a full priced pair it wouldn’t hurt to try them out.
And boy am I glad I did!
While my boyfriend calls them “child” jeans, I am absolutely in love. I find them so fun! They add a punch of colour to any outfit and instantly become a focal point, making them easy to style basics around. Whenever a cool outfit is made easy, I’m in.
Below I’ve linked a few more pairs!
A few of my favourites (also check out Zara, they have a lot of really nice ones too!):
